He usually performs with the flutist Paolo Taballione, Wind Quintets of National RAI Orchestra’s Soloists and as soloist with orchestras such as Rome Symphonic Orchestra, Bolzano Haydn Orchestra, Budapest Symphony Orchestra MAV, Toscanini Symphony Orchestra (Parma), Kaluga Symphony Orchestra (RU).
Gesualdo Coggi, born in Frosinone, Italy in 1985, began his musical studies at the age of five under the supervision of his grandfather, the composer Gesualdo Coggi.
He has received the Third Prize at the “57th International Piano Competition F. Busoni” in 2009.
He performed in a number of cities among which Rome - Auditorium Conciliazione, “La Sapienza” University, Vatican Academic Hall, New York - NY University, Chicago - Loyola University, London - Steinway Hall, Seoul, Salzburg – Mozarteum, Prague - "J. Ježek" Conservatory, Rotterdam - De Doelen Theatre, Halls of Italian Culture Institutes of Hamburg, Marseille and Budapest, Turin - “A. Toscanini” Rai Auditorium, Parma - Teatro Regio, Bolzano - “C. Monteverdi” Conservatory, Milan - “G. Verdi” Conservatory, Bologna - “G. B. Martini” Conservatory, Ravenna - "Ravenna Festival".
Gesualdo Coggi recorded Martucci’s Two Piano Concertos for NAXOS records. He is Piano Professor at Conservatorio di Napoli "San Pietro a Majella" (IT).
He studied under Prof. F. Di Cesare at “S. Cecilia” Conservatory of Rome where at the age of 17 he graduated with full marks and honours. In this occasion he was also granted the “Valter Cococcia” Prize 2003 for the youngest most talented Italian graduate. Later he got the Master’s Degree with honours at “A. Boito” Conservatory of Parma with Prof. R. Cappello. He followed Eliso Virsaladze’s improvers courses at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole and the Master Course in Music Studies of Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia under the guidance of Prof. Benedetto Lupo.
His education is broadened by the study of composition and scientific subject matter, the latter bringing him to obtain, in July 2007, the Bachelor’s Degree in Physics with full marks and honours at the “Sapienza” University of Rome.
