Julie Risbet

Dedicated musician for chamber ensembles, Julie is a regular guest of several international festivals, among which the Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival, the Kissinger Sommer Festival (Bad Kissingen), the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival, the Festival Juventus, and the Festival de Paques de Deauville.

Julie Risbet studied with Prof. J. Sulem at the CNSMDP in Paris, where she graduated with honors in May 2008. Subsequently, she progressed her studies with Prof. H. Schlichtig at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich. In Munich, Julie obtained two masters degrees, first in Viola in 2010 and then in Chamber Music in 2011.

Julie performed with artists like N. Imai, N. Zaider, G. Braunstein, V. Gluzman, J. Moser, K. Thunemann, J. Bliss and Robert Holl.
Julie regularly performs with the Voce Quartetto.
Julie is also very active in the field of modern music, attested by her collaborations with C. Desjardins, the DissonArt Ensemble, the Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland and the Oktopus Ensemble.

Julie recorded a Trio by B. Redmann with the Bavarian Radio and she is a member of the Ensemble opus21musikplus, directed by K. Gourzi.
Julie was awarded the third place prize at the 2007 edition of the International Music Contest in Markneukirchen, and she has been often invited by Seiji Ozawa at the International Music Academy Switzerland.

Between 2011 and 2015 Julie collaborates with some of the most important European Orchestral institutions: „Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks“, „Bayerischen Staatsoper“, „WDR Sinfonieorchester“, „Bamberger Symphoniker“, „Orchestre National de France“, „Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse“ and many others, under the baton of directors like Mariss Jansons, Kiril Petrenko, Riccardo Muti, Herbert Blomstedt, Sir Colin Davis, Bernard Haitink, Zubin Mehta, Daniel Harding, Andris Nelsons, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Paavo Järvi, Tugan Sokhiev, and Pierre Boulez.

Julie also collaborates to recordings with important Radio and Television stations, like Bayerisch Rundfunk, MDR-Figaro, France Musique e la Radio Svizzera.
Between 2015 and 2017 Julie has been third soloist viola at the Beethoven Orchester in Bonn, and starting 2018 Julie is a member of the Münchner Philharmoniker.
